2020 will be our 12th season here at Cosy Under Canvas, so as far as Glamping in the UK goes we are old timers. In fact when we began back in 2009 ‘Glamping’ wasn’t even a word!
Our definition of 'Glamping'
A way of taking a holiday or short break in nature. Arriving at your accommodation and everything is provided and it's more cosy and comfortable than traditional camping
We're not aspiring to underfloor heating, electric showers and bedside lamps. The Cosy experience is all about being in harmony with nature and enjoying the outdoors, getting back to basics without foregoing any of life’s luxuries.
Meet the family
Personally, we love camping in all its forms and with three children of our own we understand that sometimes you just need to jump into the car and escape to a slower pace of life. As we've grown organically over the years, we started with 2 Indian wigwams, we've been able to listen to our guests and it's thanks to their feedback and comments that we've created the unique eco Glamping experience that we have today.
Cosy Under Canvas allows you all the fun of life outdoors without the hassle.
It's camping at it's best, camping without having to cram the car full, camping without having to set up, camping with everything provided. Time and time again we are told that we have ‘thought of everything’ and that really is the idea. We don’t want you to have to bring anything with you, except your clothes and some food, and we can even provide the food if you’d rather not shop before you arrive.
We’ll leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday here but as our home is just up the lane (only a 3 minute walk) we are always on hand for assistance with firelighting, advice about activities or even the loan of a pair of wellies. Knock on the door, leave us a note or give one of our kids a message and we’ll be right there to answer any questions we can.
The whole family are involved in Cosy, Theo has his own fleet of bikes for hire so do ask for him if you'd like to pedal around the area. He's a keen mountain biker himself so has got lots of routes up his sleeve and we can let you know which involve a stop for a pub lunch!
Jake and his legendary crepes make an appearance most weekends and school holidays holidays so look out for the blackboard advertising his tasty crepes and shakes, plus we make proper coffee for the grown ups too!
And not forgetting Clara and her Cluckers! Stock up on freshly laid eggs from the camp shop while you're here.
We are proud of what we have created in our small but lovely woodland and we sincerely hope that you enjoy your stay with us. Do let us have any feedback and then please go home and spread the word.
We look forward to meeting you. Thank you.
Emma, Dan, Theo 17, Jake 15, Clara 7 plus Lottie and Coco the dogs
