Pop in and see Geraldine at Gibbons Butchers for tasty, local and organic meat. They also have a deli counter full of home cooked goodies from pies and peppers to salads and desserts.
Hay Deli has a cheese counter bursting with Welsh delights to tempt you and your palette!
And Kieran at Castle Greengrocers will be happy to sort you out a produce box bursting with some delicious local fruit and vegetables.
It's market day on Thursdays too. The town is buzzing with tourists and locals alike. Grab yourselves some fish, meat, cheese, olives and artisan bread to bring back to camp and cook up a feast!
A full English (or Welsh) breakfast is perfect cooked on the griddle over the fire. Just pop the sausages on first and cook for a few minutes, add the bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms and cook gently over the fire. Serve with a pot of fresh coffee, this is the perfect way to fill bellies before a day of adventure!
Waffles cooked in the griddle pan over the fire or on the gas stove are also delicious. We love ours with maple syrup, nutella or fruit and greek yoghurt.
