Imaginative and friendly craft sessions run on our site by experienced, professional crafts persons. All materials provided and workshops include making of cocktail rings, bunting, fascinators, headbands, flower crowns, memory boxes, wedding flowers and prop box. The list goes on and The Crafty hen are happy to conjure up the materials needed for any craft activity that takes your fancy; one of our hen do’s made superhero capes!

Activity days and half days
The Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons National Park are an open, outdoor adventure playground.
Brace yourselves for adventure with a gorge walk in the Brecon Beacons, try your hand at archery, abseiling or climbing, team up for some raft building or a rope course, or give caving, potholing or mountain boarding a go.
Interactivties offer a range of activities tailored to your group size and ability. Give them a call to chat through your requirements but don’t forget to mention that you’re staying at Cosy and there’ll be free transport to and from our site plus a free place for the organiser.

Mountain Mayhem is based a little further away but they offer a number of more exhilarating activities not available in the immediate Hay on Wye area. Their beautiful site in the heart of the Black Mountains is purpose built and is home to an indoor shooting range, a kart track, quad bike course and hovercraft field (please note it is a 45 min scenic drive to Mountain Mayhem from Cosy Under Canvas).

After a busy day of activities what could be more relaxing than returning to the site to be greeted by Bernie with a hot or cold feast. Private Drinking and Dining in Hay on Wye
The Old Electric is a fabulous quirky vintage shop on the main street in Hay on Wye, full of ‘Marvellous things of interest’ and is the perfect venue for your private dining experience.
Private dining for 10 to 30 people from £40 per head to include a welcome cocktail and a 3 course meal. The chef will liaise with you on your menu requirements – fine dining or pizza and bubbly whatever you prefer. Browse the shop between courses for some retail therapy.

Another great venue for private dining is the private room at Foyles of Glasbury, a newly renovated pub in a village a few miles from the site. The private dining menu is menu from £25.00 to £50.00 per head and is based on locally sourced, seasonal food. A culinary delight.

For a truly unique dining experience give Hugh at Off Grid Gourmet a call. He runs a solar, wind and wood powered supper club in a barn with stunning views over the Wye valley. It's BYO which can keep the costs down and he can suggest a menu to suit your needs, and dietary requirements, usually about £30 per head. The barn is a few miles outside of Hay so booking is essential, as is booking a Taxi if you don't have a designated driver amongst you.

Pubs and Restaurants
There are a couple of dining venues in Hay in Wye that are well set up for large group bookings.
Tomatitos Tapas Bar is a lively tapas in the centre of Hay. Expect a warm welcome, a great selection of wine and tasty well priced food. There is an area slightly separated from the restaurant that is perfect for large groups and a set menu can be arranged on request.

The Globe at Hay is is an independent arts centre with cosy welcoming cafe. They celebrate food that is sourced and cooked sustainably, allowing menus to evolve with the seasons. With a large funky space for dining book a table here then head to the bar upstairs for music and DJ's most weekends.
