We have missed our guests. It is the 12th season of Cosy Under Canvas this year, the bluebells are in bloom and the buds and leaves in the woods are about to burst. We are so used sharing this with our guests and enjoying its beauty at this time of year with you.
But we have been taking good care of the site in your absence and we are grateful for this distraction. We've pulled out brambles, tended to our WET system, re-laid paths and come up with lots of new suggestions for woodland activities, from bug hotels to natural mandalas.
After 7 weeks in this strange and uncertain situation we are all wondering when it will be safe to travel again. We don't know what to expect but we have been following the national and our industry news with interest. We are all thinking about the time when the lock down will be eased and an escape to the countryside is an option again.
Until then we must stay put, stay safe and be patient.
But we are looking forward to welcoming you back after this difficult and worrying time and are planning for the safest way to do this. We want to offer you the peace and tranquility of our site, with safety measures in place to alleviate any concerns you may have about virus contamination.
Our domes are well spaced out and all have private toilets. Usually the kitchen facilities are shared and guests enjoy chatting while waiting for the kettle to boil or the bacon to fry, however we can bring social distancing measures into place to ensure that all our shared facilities are safe to use.
Each dome could have it's own box of kitchen essentials and sanitising necessities! Plates, bowls, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. Plus sanitiser, gloves and masks. There'd be a set for everyone. If you're not cooking and eating round your campfire as most of our guests do, then you'd book a slot in the kitchen and eat at your very own designated table. There'd be one for each dome in the kitchen or lounge, more than 2m apart from each other and we'd pop your name on it so that you can leave your bits and bobs there.
The same when it comes to showering. Again, book your family slot and the washroom would be yours alone. We're a small site and there's rarely a queue for showers during normal times so we're confident that this wouldn't be troublesome!
And finally when it comes to cleaning, our standards are very high and our site is spic and span. We will carry out risk assessments and create new cleaning policies to identify areas that may need a deeper clean than previously. We will commit to more frequent cleaning and will document this for you to see. We will be totally transparent with you and be readily available to answer any questions that you may have before, during or after your stay.
To celebrate, we'll be releasing some great post lockdown offers once we have the go ahead to open so please keep following us.
We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to Cosy Under Canvas.
All the best Emma, Dan and the team x
